Prudential Tower

Project Details

Building Owner: Boston Properties

Architect: Facilities Engineering Associates

Completed Date: July 20, 2004

Project Description

On this high profile, high rise roofing project, Titan Roofing removed the original coal tar pitch roof down to the structural concrete deck, removed 6,000 square feet of concrete slab (on the 51st floor), and installed a new Soprema modified bitumen roofing system.

New insulation and coverboard along with a 2 ply/Granulated Cap Sheet modified bitumen system were applied in cold process adhesive.

Titan also removed, upgraded and reinstalled the lightning protection system.

The Prudential Tower was the tallest building (748 ft.) in the United States outside of New York City, until it was succeeded by The John Hancock Tower in Boston in 1969, which was also recently re-roofed by Titan Roofing.
